I have been making books since I was a kid. They never met up to my expectations of what a “real” or professional looking book should be. Move forward several years to when I was working in an art store, I lucked out meeting a person who made journals. She came in the store with an unfinished book and I finally saw how a page block and cover could work. I suppose I could have just gone to the library and taken a book out and taught myself, but one of the things I like about bookbinding is doing it with other people.

I’m going to start posting some of my notes and instruction sheets to share what can be done with simple pieces of paper, board, thread and some beautiful creative quiet time.
